St. Andrew Closure Policy

We will operate on the same schedule as North Douglas County schools.  If they are closed – the building is closed.  The following is the website for school closures:  www1.dcsdk12.org.  We will then evaluate by 3pm for evening class closure.  On Sundays, Harvey and Chuck will make the decision on closure.  Harvey will check with Douglas Co and Arapahoe Co for the weather/road report prior to making the decision.

If the building is closed: 

§         A notice will be posted on the Home Page of the website

§         The phone message will reflect the closure.

Childcare Delayed Start and Cancellation Policy:

In the event of inclement weather, the Childcare Ministry at St. Andrew will follow the same closings for the Douglas County school District:

Ø      When North Douglas County cancels school; St. Andrew Childcare will be canceled for childcare scheduled up to 3pm.

o       A determination will be made at 3pm by the Executive, Children’s, Adult and Music Director on whether childcare will be held beginning at 4:30pm.

Ø      When North Douglas County Schools announces an early dismissal, St. Andrew will cancel childcare for the evening session. 

Ø      When North Douglas County delays the start of the school day, the morning sessions of childcare will be cancelled.  The afternoon and evening sessions of childcare will be held, weather permitting.

These closures will be posted on the St. Andrew web-site by 7:30am that day.  A recorded message will also be placed on the voice message of the Childcare Coordinator, Shyanne Ching (303-794-2683 X126)

The decision to cancel childcare is made with the safety of your children and the childcare staff being the priority.
