St. Andrew welcomed 42 youth into its membership during Confirmation services Sunday, Jan. 11. The youth have been meeting since September in six family groups, each of which has two adult leaders and two ex-cons (previously confirmed high school helpers). Ten of the youth were baptized that morning, as was Gary Davidson, a Confirmation leader who also joined the church at that time. “Yeah God,” an original song written by Davidson, was performed at the Confirmation services in honor of the class. A luncheon was held at the Canaan Gallery in Southglenn Mall. This year’s group included 38 eighth graders and four high-school boys. It was a family affair, with three sets of siblings and a pair of cousins, as well as seven leaders with youth in the class. St. Andrew’s next Confirmation class, open to youth in eighth grade and above, will begin in September 2004. Contact Mike Ratliff or Cindy Anderson for more information.
