Mathew Hayward in his new book Ego Check tells about American CEO’s
who have succeeded like David and then failed like David because of
their pride and arrogance. He quotes Jim Collins in the book “From
Good to Great” where Collins says that the most effective CEO’s
possess “a compelling modesty” and a bias toward being “self
effacing and understated.” What do you think? What leaders have you
seen who are like that or others whose arrogance has been
destructive?
