Study Questions - Chapter 4

  1. Why do you believe in God?

  2. When have you felt closest to God?

  3. How has your understanding of God changed or developed over the years?

  4. What do you think our relationship with God should be bringing about in our lives?

  5. According to the Bible, what is God most concerned about and most passionate about? How should our relationship to God reflect what God is most concerned about?

  6. “The Christian life is about a relationship with God that transforms us into more compassionate beings”. Discuss this.

  7. Is it possible to have a real relationship with God without being changed by that? How are you being changed?

  8. Some Indonesian Muslim clergy were saying after the Tsunami that God sent this tragedy to punish people who were not faithful to God. Do you believe that God is behind everything that happens (everything has a reason) or that there are accidents and random events and that some bad things happen because the world is still imperfect and because God has given us freedom of choice?
