Director of Communications/Marketing/Public Relations Effective

Status: Full Time, Salaried, Exempt
Principle Focus:
Provides leadership and direction in
creating comprehensive marketing strategies, communications and
public relations activities, both internal and external, to
advance the mission and vision of St. Andrew.
Reporting Relationships:
Reports to the
Executive Director and works closely with elected and appointed
lay leadership, ministers and all other staff members to support
and enhance the church's ministries.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for creating, implementing and
measuring the success of:

All communication media (print, broadcast, direct mail,
audio-tape, and video production) from St. Andrew.

Design and management of all web sites and seeking new
technologies and opportunities to improve the effectiveness
of Web-related communication with all ministries.

Production, duplication and marketing of the audio ministry.
-
Development of the video production ministry.
-
Volunteer teams to assist in the various aspects of this
ministry.

A comprehensive publicity/media plan for major church events
(special speakers, concerts, activities).

The quality and effectiveness of church communication
channels and vehicles.

Systems and procedures necessary to the smooth operation of
the marketing/communications/public relations function.

Financial objectives.
Job Qualifications/Requirements:
-
Bachelors degree in journalism,
marketing, public relations preferred.

Knowledge and expertise in print media,
computer graphics, web design, public relations, audio and
video production.

Strong
management abilities. Organized. Team oriented, personally
motivated and self initiating.

Ability to think strategically and provide
direction.

Experience in developing and working in
team based ministries.

Ability to relate well with wide variety
of persons and to empower volunteers.
-
Flexibility
to work beyond traditional office hours, and on weekends, as
well as the professional dedication to be "on-call"
available when necessary.
